Mucky (Mikayla) has been staying with my parents this week. My mom and dad went to Nevada last weekend and Muck wanted to stay with her grandma for a while. Since my parents have to go out there this weekend again to pick up a horse, Lex decided it would be ok to let his baby girl stay with her grandma for a week. It's hard for him to be without Muck. She is just the cutest thing and can make light out of any situation. She is definitely a "ham"! She is always making us laugh and can brighten any one's day with a single smile.
I picked Mucky up from my parents' house yesterday to take her to get a surprise. The girls have been riding a lot out on the ranch and the saddle they have just isn't cut out for that type of use. As Muck would say, "It's not comfy!" I found a 13" Barrel Saddle and decided to go take a look. Muck sat in it and wiggled around and pretended she was on Reno riding up in to the mountains. I asked if she thought she could ride all day in it and she said yes, I agreed and thought it was a pretty good deal so we took it home with us. I also took her to Dallas Greens to take a look around. We ended up getting rubber band guns to play with, Muck got a John Deer Beanie, and fake John Deer cell phone and keys. I kept telling her that she was spoiled. She didn't like it until I explained my way of looking at being spoiled. I told her that it's ok to be spoiled as long as you aren't a spoiled brat or spoiled rotten. She liked that idea! =) In no way has she ever been a brat, or rotten, so I think she'll follow that rule pretty well. I love that little girl so very much!
I snapped a few pictures of Muck messing around with the toys we got. I wanted to put the saddle on Venus when we got back to my parents' house, but it was getting late, and I needed to find cinches for it. My mom was going to get it all fixed up for her today so she could try it out though. I told her to take a couple pictures of her riding, so when I get them I can post them. I think she was trying to be Annie Oakley or someone like that, so I kept calling her Mucky Oakley. =) We had a blast!
